Imagine Nations Through Story

Welcome to Imagine Nations, the website of IBBY Ireland (www.ibbyireland.ie) and International Children's Book Day 2014! Here you will find reviews of children's books that will appeal to children of all cultures and ages and features that will interest librarians, teachers, academics and parents. This site will be updated every few days by the folk at IBBY Ireland, with contributions coming soon from other IBBY countries around the world. Check out our Events tab for information on what we have organised for 2nd April, our Links tab for useful sites and information, and don't forget to download our International Children's Book Day poster and message to the children of the world, courtesy of Laureate na nÓg Niamh Sharkey and former laureate Siobhán Parkinson.

Please get in touch with any review or feature suggestions using our contact form under Contact Us.

Hidden relates the gripping story of 14-year-old Alix who, one Saturday with her friend Samir, saves a drowning man on the beach of Hayling Island, where she lives with her mother. The man, Mohammed, turns out to be an immigrant from Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, where he was beaten and his brother killed.
